There are approximately 400 P&As in the College of Liberal Arts. We teach and advise students, conduct research, direct programs, manage budgets, run departments, and reach out to the community.

If you'd like to examine the wide array of job categories within the P/A class, you can search for a description of any job at the Human Resources "Compensation and Job Classification" page. Look up your own job title, to see your job description and promotional path. Use "Advanced search" to explore P/A job classes in further detail.

The CLA P/A Board shall be the principal instrument for achieving participation for such academic professional and administrative staff in the affairs of the college, and is charged with nominating their representatives to all appropriate committees of the college.
